A WORDLE TO THE WISE

Is Older Wiser?

We need to have more choices.

There has been a lot of debate and conjecture on whether or not the two top candidates for President are too old to hold office. Also, if in 2024 we will effectively be voting for a Vice President who will eventually take over because the stress of holding the Office of the President will be too much for either candidate.

I’m not a doctor and I don’t have any insight into the health of either of the two likely nominees for President. I have known people who have died in their 50s and others who have lived past 90. There are too many factors at play for me to say who will and will not be alive, or able to perform the job between 2024 and 2028.

What I can say is that I think that it’s time for a younger candidate. Not only is a younger person more likely to be able to keep up with what must be a frantic schedule, but they are also more likely to identify with a larger part of the country being affected by their policies and decisions.

Shouldn’t we also want someone who appears young and vigorous? Shouldn’t we have a president who can at least pretend to participate in sports or look active. I’m not discounting golf as a sport, but that’s more of an old-guy lunch outing than an activity designed for fitness when it’s played by anybody…
