I have always considered myself LOYAL. I have had strong friendships, good relationships with family and have stayed with employers while we worked through various issues. I like being LOYAL and I think that I enjoy loyalty in return.

Loyalty is one of those intangible qualities that you either value or you don’t. If you don’t value it, then you don’t give it to those who are worthy and you don’t mind not receiving it.

Paying lip service to loyalty is like eating a photocopy of an ice cream cone. You can say you ate it, but you didn’t experience it.

One synonym of LOYAL is true. It’s mostly meant in the poetic sense of “I’ll always be true to you.”, but I think that it’s also meant in the sense of “I won’t lie to you just to preserve what looks like loyalty.

I have always considered it a part of loyalty to be able to have a truthful conversation and sometimes to outright tell someone when they are acting out, doing something out of character, or just being a dick. I’ve had those conversations with people I considered myself loyal to. I consider myself still loyal to them and for the most part we still have strong friendships.
