I like music, and I am a child of the 80’s, so I tend toward Guns N’ Roses, Journey, and Huey Lewis and the News. I love a song where the band is featured as much as the lead singer, with a melody that feels like you’re driving fast and clear on a lonely road and a back beat that carries your heart along for the ride.

These songs have been covered in a lot of ways and by a lot of bands. One that has my attention recently is when some of my favorite 80’s songs are played by string quartets, or by the artists known as 2CELLOS.

I have to admit that I was skeptical when someone suggested I look up 2CELLOS on YouTube. But not only are they amazing artists, they seem to understand the music they’re playing and to be having a lot of fun with songs that are generally not considered for cellos.

Another that I’ve found is the Wedding String Quartet which has quite a few covers of old favorites as well. And, of course, as a proper string quartet also includes a VIOLA which is today’s Wordle answer.
