Here’s what I will do in my small way.
I’m responding to an article by James Finn that I believe we need to keep at top of mind, especially with an election cycle in the works. Read the whole article here.
It’s a sad, maddening, upsetting, article about an awful, hurtful, brutal beating and murder of a young trans teen at their SCHOOL. What the fuck! Schools have to be safe places for EVERYBODY. Nobody should ever have to write about this, nobody should ever have to experience this, but we all need to read it and repost it.
16-year old Nex Benedict was beaten at school and later died. James has all the details and if your eyes don’t water when you read it then I suggest you rethink your humanity.
This was a CHILD who was a victim at a SCHOOL.

As an educator, I have a responsibility to protect the children under my care. It’s part of the job. It doesn’t matter what they look like, or who they are. They are under my care and I take that responsibility seriously.
