I can’t recall the last time I was GIDDY. I have been amused, happy, entertained, charmed, pleased, engaged, delighted and gratified. But I can’t really recall being GIDDY.

Maybe it’s because there has been an underlying layer of grimness to the world for about 5–7 years that is hard to overcome. Maybe it’s just because I’m an adult and we aren’t supposed to feel GIDDY.

Honestly, I’m not even sure I want to feel GIDDY anymore, and I am especially not sure after I look up the definition.

The Cambridge dictionary defines GIDDY as feeling silly, happy, or excited and showing this in your behavior. Meanwhile, over here in Red/Blue land, Merriam Webster says it’s having a feeling of being whirled about and in danger of falling down.

So, maybe I have been feeling GIDDY with the sense that the world is in danger of falling down and I am being whirled about uncontrollably by forces beyond my control fueled by idiocy at what should be the adult-controlling-things level every turn.

Well, that took a turn. Thanks Wordle!
